Bottle Drying Racks

Do you have a bottle drying rack in your home yet?  Well we just took more into Monticello and hung blue ball jars on it. I have one in my kitchen with white ironstone pitchers hung on it.  I think one in your garden potting shed to hang terracotta pots on would be useful and charming!  So come on into Monticello and get one.  We will be doing a spring display upfront on Friday cause we want spring - NOW! Come see it and shop the sales at Monticello too.  Get your bottle drying rack 10% off...

Metal Farm Signs

Today I took new antiques up to our farm display in Monticello Antiques in Portland. Their is a great metal sign "Allstate Leghorns" that I don't think will be there for long.  Old signs are hard to find and in demand.  I also took up a pottery head that is most wonderful.  I have not found any marks on it but it is very unusual.  If you collect pottery this one is for you.  Their is also an old hat box in great shape that says it is made of walrus hide...maybe..it is a great display piece no matter what it is made up.  So go in and take a look.  Take some friends and make a day of it in Portland.  P.S. Sorry the pics above all ran together - Blogger is still having issues:)  Swear it is not me!

Farm display

Today we did a new display at Monticello Antiques in Portland.  It has a decidely "farm" theme.  The best piece there is the Schults Bread case - WOW!! Classy, one of a kind piece that is turn of the century wonderful. It was used to sell Schults bread out of in a country store in Iowa.  Go visit it cause you will proably never see another one.  The dog cart that the bread case sits on got alot of attention while I was doing the display too. I think it will find a new home quickly.  My favorite piece is the Home Made Goodies sign - very fun.  So get yourself to Monticello Antique Marketplace on Stark in Portland for a fun day of shopping to make your home your own with all the one of a kind items... And remember - Shop now - Repent later.   Mary

New Monticello Display

We say when Christmas is over - it's over.  Time to move on... so we switched out from Christmas to Child's Play in our mall space.  Kid's vintage toys speak to the inner child in all of us - they evoke memories and happy times.  From old vintage trucks (my gosh they are made of real metal) to the old pull down colorful wall maps that every teacher used.  From old board games to colorful pinball games where you had to add up your own scores.  It all adds up to fun. So come visit our new display and smile a little. Maybe buy yourself a favorite childhood toy while you are there.... shop now, repent later.

New additions to our clock display

Here is the latest of our booth inside Monticello! The clock faces have been wildly popular and we have nearly sold out! We took in two new old clock bodies, in face we listened to one chime all the way up to Portland everytime we went over a bump! Try a new place for lunch, Pok Pok, 3226 Southeast Division Street  Portland. We went wild for their authentic Thai food, full of fresh, clean flavors and unique and delicious combinations! It is a short drive from Monticello Antiques, I recommend the coconut curry soup with chicken!

New Goodies!

We restocked our booth in Monticello's Christmas Show! Check out these super cute little diecast cars and trucks Mary tied Christmas Trees onto! Lots more old glass ornaments and vintage paper goodies! Check it out, there are some truly beautiful booths in the show this year...
