January at Monticello

It was time to take down our Christmas display at Monticello. But we had a ton of snow and a big hill to go down and get back up, So finally today we loaded the Sprinter and  left our home up in the hills with 7" of snow and ice. I expected it to be like this the whole way to Portland. Nope - in 7 miles we ran out of snow and ice. None. We are snowed in and they have nothing!  Winter is a strange critter. But we did have our shovel with us just in case.

So the new display is all about Love and Valentines. The scarfs just made sense because the wind chill went right through you today. The grey one is real Mongolian sheep skin. The wooden pie safe is old - square nails and all. The back is old screen and the bottom board is an old store sign - Baird's Dry Goods.

A big chair to curl up in with a mohair throw. A sweet Valentine

Vintage Valentines and lime green lemon cyprus topiaries! Your tree may be down but that lime green will cheer you and your home. They thrive outside in the summer too.

Oldies but goodies

A nice mahogany hall tree with a marble top. She has great legs. I love the silver sacred heart milagros. Some of them are locket style for a picture of your loved one.

Will you be my Valentine? So cold aside - get down to Monticello and see the new display. A nice place to shop on a cold winter day.
