New furniture today

As furniture sells in our booth we must replace it. Sometimes it is hard to find the right size piece to fit the spot. Sara just finished building this vintage suitcase table.She used some old table legs we have had for awhile. She put a nice clean sheet of plywood inside so you can store anything you want - even linens! It turned out very nice Sara. While I was setting up the display several customers asked questions about it. Soooo- I have begun looking for another piece that size in our warehouse as I do not think this one will last long! Good job Sara!

Sara continues to create and sell her signs. This one is inter-active with the tree types sliding in and out. Well done Sara. Love your signs....

The white tree

I promised you pics of Sara's new sign in our red display in our booth and here it is. The metal shelf has little holes that almost look like stars. Very nice Sara! Love the patina.

Now onto our back tree in the Monticello Christmas show that opens on Friday morning. Vintage white tree with a ruffled tree shirt. Looks like it snowed....

The Christmas farm table.

Sometimes your life steers you in a direction and you don't even see it coming! So that was how I met this awesome farm table with the awesome metal top. It was made by Gordon Lesslie for his wife, Judi and family. I know many delicious meals were shared on this farm table. Memories were made. That was one thing I always made happen as I raised my family - we all ate dinner together and shared our day. Special times. So now we have this wonderful farm table ready for a new family to make their memories...

In the same metal theme I came across this pedal car. Kids spent a lot of time in it being kids and making memories. It is still in good working order but would look good on your porch too.

Pointsettias, lime green cyprus, cement grey rabbits make for a pleasing Christmas color theme. Doesn't Sara do great displays...she and Ben came all the way up to help me. She said "I will help you - it's what we do". 

Christmas trees in metal olive buckets with twinkling lights and galvanized star ornaments continue the metal theme. The local, fresh wreaths smell wonderful...

This wall is not done as we left the hand painted Christmas tree sign (on metal) behind when we packed the van. I will post pics of it tomorrow. My daughter Sara paints the best vintage looking signs! The garden art globes are made by another friend (thanks Greg and Leighanne)  out of found metal pieces. We put buckets of fresh greenery in them but they would be awesome with pumpkins or big pots of summer blooms too.
The Monticello Christmas show opens on Friday at 8:00 am.  We have a display in the show too. Will post picks of it tomorrow.The show will be amazing and continues through Christmas

 As I type this my daughter and son-in-law are waiting for their ride to pick them up in Salem as he was closer than us. On their way home tonight they hit a deer on I-5 and their car burst into flames. They are fine. So I just got my Christmas present - thank you Lord for keeping them safe! Nothing else matters...nothing.

From Haloween to Christmas? Not me as I love Thanksgiving. So today
we changed out our space to a Thanksgiving display.

 


From vintage French chairs to some nice squash in an unusual color. It is time
to be Thankful.....




Linen aprons to cook that turkey and your specialty side dish.




Copper makes this display shine. The artwork is special. When I first saw it
I felt like every woman right after the big meal. I call it "It took me 3 days to cook
it and 20 minutes for them to eat it!" is what I am calling it. You understand....
So get into Monticello for the items in this display. On November 20th the Christmas
Open House opens and this display will be gone. So have a wonderful time with
family and friends... and always be thankful.... Mary



Wicked hath come!

Something wicked this way comes... to our new display at Monticello Antiques in Portland. Sara helped with this one and I was so glad. Lots of fun items - even a taxidermied baby beaver! 

Love all the mirrors on the back wall. The cement black cats are perfect too!

Sara painted the Black Cat Farm sign. The oversized witch hats are made by a company that hires only people with disabilities. They are works of art!

Sold....!!!

Yes the Chevy bench sold in a few hours! Gone! To a Chevy lover I hope. Greg is making more but the tailgates can be hard to find. So if anybody has one to sell.. comment at the bottom of this post. 

So today I took in another work by Sara - an apple barrel she painted. Oh I am surrounded by talented people! Good job Greg and Sara. Portland supports artists and for that we are grateful. Now I need to take in something to replace the bench - I am a furniture hauler but an artistic one! Thank you Portland...
